Heaven is a Place Where Nothing Ever Happens.

Love,

The Talking Heads.

You know, people really do tend to get caught up in so much nonsense that really doesn't matter. Not only that, but people do thing backwards when they communicate with each other. People are so sensitive to what they hear and see; Anything can be considered offensive. But Where does that sensitivity disappear to when someone is asking for support? When something important should be heard? I don't know. it's funny; the more "liberating" laws get (I'm thinking civil rights, so you can follow that very short train of thought.) it seems, the more people are offended. And it's obnoxious. No one can express themselves without fearing persecution. Which is ironic, because that's part of what civil rights cover. Now don't get me wrong; i think people should be protected from things said out of maliciousness or mal-intent. However, i think people are so quickm to be offended when their views are disagreed with. Also, Politically correctness bugs me. People feel the need to tiptoe around each other, when it would be simpler to connect on a level basis.Why are people PC? Is it the need to prevent potential offense? God forbid, someone dislike something you say and takes it in an incorrect manner. However, now people are looking out for aforementioned political correctness to the point where if you are not politically correct, they're offended. I'm going to use the simplest example I can think of that i hear coming from the mouths of people of al races, genders, creeds, ages etc.:

African American. Which was previously Black, which was previously, the n-word.
Note there how that was done. The N-word (which, yes I am being PC) is PC because the word is originally intended to be offensive when used;a derogatory term. Saying someone is black, for example, doesn't have to be offensive. If someone uses it in a derogatory manner,sure it could be construed as offensive, but quite frankly, as used in casual conversation as a desciption, it shouldn't be offensive. The only issue with really saying African American is that there is an assumption that all black people in America are from Africa and have maintained citizenship here in the US. Not true.
Also, alot of white people are from south africa, but if being referred to in comversation, based off appearnce, would just as soon be called white.

And it strikes me funny, on standardized testing how it asks you to select your race/nationality and the choices are usually *African American *Pacific islander/Asian *Hispanic/Latino *White.

Why not put caucasian on there? Not like it's really offending me of anything seeing as how I look like a piece of paper, but that's always stricken me funny.

Oh, crazy political correctness.

Moral of my rambles;

No need to be PC all the time; But don't be a douchebag.
